The Billings City Council will hear an update on design, construction and beautification plans for Yellowstone Kelly’s burial place in Swords Rimrock Park at their work session today.  The session begins at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 220 N. 27th St.

A committee backing the project plans to put it out for bid in early August, followed by a Sept. 1 bid opening.  The contract will be awarded Sept. 20, with completion of earthwork, grading and trails scheduled for November.  The remainder of the work will be completed in the spring of next year, with commissioning ready by June 10.

Also on Monday’s agenda is a presentation by Scott Walker on the Unified Planning Work Program.  Funding sources for the current program, which runs through the end of the federal fiscal year on Sept. 30, total about $1.9 million.  Next year’s plan will be presented in September.
