The Billings Gazette reports that Yellowstone County commissioners interviewed three Republican candidates– nominated by the local GOP– to fill a vacancy in State House District 51, which includes south Billings.  Frank Fleming, a 64-year-old retired parole officer; Rodney Garcia, a 63-year-old former oil field worker and legislator; and millennial Jake Hanson, a 23-year-old former state house page, participated in a public interview Tuesday. The commission will choose a candidate at their January 23 board meeting at 9:30 a.m. to fill the seat of Republican Adam Rosendale, who moved to Great Falls and is no longer eligible to represent the district.  Fleming already has filed to run as a 2018 candidate for the seat.  Garcia told commissioners he was filing later in the day, and Hanson said if he’s not appointed, he will not seek election– but would run if appointed.
