Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) joined us on Thursday's "Montana Talks" radio show with Aaron Flint where we talked about his upcoming Montana Energy Summit taking place in May.

We also got the chance to get Senator Daines' reaction to the breaking news out of Washington, DC that Admiral Ronny Jackson, President Trump's pick to run the VA was withdrawing his name from the nomination process.

Daines says Admiral Jackson is an Iraq war veteran who has served 23 years in the US Navy and deserves respect, and not a rush to judgment. Daines added that Admiral Jackson was also praised by former President Barack Obama. Here's more of what he had to say:

I'm just concerned that there has been irresponsible rush to judgment and a lack of respect for the uniform based on unsubstantiated accusations.

There's two sides to every story, and unfortunately there have been Senate Democrats that have rushed to judgment on this. I tell you, we need to respect the admiral, respect the uniform, and respect our veterans, and allow the truth and the facts to come out.
