Dr. Kia Weighs in on Khashoggi, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia
Dr. Mehrdad Kia has been one of the most popular professors at The University of Montana. He's also an expert on the Middle East, Central Asia, and Southwest Asia who grew up in Iran.
Now that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince has called the killing of Jamal Khashoggi a "heinous crime," how do US/Saudi relations move forward? What are the geopolitics really at play here? Is there a media double standard when it comes to the concern for "journalists" and all of the journalists still being detained in Turkey? What about the alleged Muslim Brotherhood connections with Khashoggi? And, what about the ongoing human rights concerns in Iran? We talked about all that more with Dr. Kia on Montana Talks with Aaron Flint.
