Ex-University of Montana Player Beau Donaldson Sentenced to Prison for Rape
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — A judge has sentenced former University of Montana football player Beau Donaldson to 30 years in prison with 20 years suspended for raping a female friend in his apartment.
The Missoulian reports Donaldson began to cry as District Judge Karen Townsend handed down the maximum sentence sought by the prosecution.
He will be eligible for parole after two-and-a-half years in prison.
Friday's sentencing hearing lasted six-and-a-half hours during which the 23-year-old victim, her mother and best friend testified.
The victim says she pretended to be asleep out of sheer terror while Donaldson raped her, then she fled barefoot when he left the room.
