Important Montana Primary Election Update

Bret Rutherford, the elections administrator for Yellowstone County, sent out an important reminder ahead of the June 5th primary election in Montana. While Rutherford covers Yellowstone County, it is also good information for voters across the state:

The Election Department has received 25,257 ballots back for the Primary Election and this is on par with past midterm primaries.  We also recommend that anyone wishing to return their ballot by mail do so by midweek to ensure delivery.  Ballots must be received by the Election Department by 8:00 PM on Tuesday the 5^th.  Ballots can also be dropped off at the Yellowstone County Courthouse during normal business hours or at a polling place on Election Day between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM.  Absentee voters should also know that they will not be allowed to vote a normal ballot at the polls on Election Day.  They must vote the absentee issued to them.  If a mistake is made or a ballot is damaged, a replacement can be picked up at our office up until 12:00 noon on June 4 or vote a provisional ballot can be issued on Election Day.
