The frequency of aggressive road rage occurrences is experiencing a notable bump across the entire country.
Evidently, Montana is among some of the worst.
According to an article and study I found on Forbes, in 2022, there was a staggering 135% surge in road rage shooting incidents, resulting in 413 injuries, compared to the statistics in 2018.
Certain states exhibit a higher prevalence of aggressive driving behavior, significantly increasing drivers' vulnerability whenever they embark on their journeys.
Forbes Advisor undertook a comprehensive survey involving 10,000 licensed drivers to classify the states with the highest concentration of confrontational drivers.
This study encompassed an analysis of nine critical metrics, allowing for a thorough comparison of all 50 states.
The State With The Most Confrontational Drivers
Arizona's score: 100 out of 100
- The Grand Canyon State ranked second worst for the percentage of drivers who have been forced off the road (22.5%) and tied with Oklahoma for having the third-highest percentage of drivers who have been tailgated (70.5%).
- 31.5% of Arizona drivers reported that another driver had exited their vehicle to yell at or fight with them, the fifth highest amount in the nation.
- Additionally, Arizona ranks sixth worst for drivers who experience road rage very frequently in their home state (31.5%) and drivers who have been yelled at, insulted, cursed at or threatened by another driver (81%).
