The Montana Cold Makes My Cat Sleep in Weird Places

Cats can be some of the weirdest pets out there.  One moment they are purring and grinding their face into your hand for more scratching.  But in the blink of an eye, they can suddenly unleash a furry fury of deadly paws upon a hand also.

Or an arm.  Or leg.  Or a foot.

Even small children aren't safe.

Even for all the hardships that they put us through, if they turn up missing, we frantically run about our homes trying to find them.

The Feral Is Strong With This One - Still To This Day

Our cat suddenly showed up on our front porch out of the blue, probably not more than 5 or 6 months old.  After a little coaxing and leaving food out, he eventually decided that we as humans would suffice in the worshipping of him.  He came in for a snack and never left again.  We love him, but my goodness the feral continues with him even after several years of being inside.

He has his own version of stealth mode in some instances, and can suddenly appear out of thin air it seems.

Recently though, he turned up missing.  Not for an extended time or anything, just not in his normal spots on the first cold day of the year.  My wife, ever in panic mode that he had gotten outside and would freeze, looked everywhere.

 Always The Last Place You Look, Isn't It?

Being a feral cat, he never has taken to cat beds really.  Sure, he uses his cat tree to scratch or maybe catch a snooze in the sun, but otherwise, he has specific areas he stays to.  So a little worry creeps in when he isn't in those areas.

Where was he after an hour of wandering the home looking?  Yep, the least expected, and the last place we chose to look.

The dog's bed?  Right out in the open, really?  Ugh!
