Billings Woman Admits To Carjacking While Armed

From the United States Department of Justice for the District of Montana:

A Billings woman accused of carjacking a vehicle while armed admitted to charges in court today.

Talena Florence Boyiddle, 20, of Billings, pleaded guilty to a superseding information charging her with carjacking and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime in violence.

Boyiddle faces a maximum of 15 years in prison, a $250,00 fine and three years of supervised release for the carjacking charges, and a mandatory minimum of five years to life in prison, consecutive to any other sentences, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release on the firearms charges.

A sentencing date will be set before the U.S. District Judge. The court will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, and other statutory factors. Boyiddle was detained pending further proceedings.

According to the court:

On January 23rd, 2023, the victim identified as John Doe 1, reported to the Billings Police Department that he had been carjacked. The victim told law enforcement that he had met a woman he knew as "Nicole" online, and that at 1 AM on January 23rd, 2023, she arranged for him to pick her up.

When the victim arrived, the woman got into the front seat, and two unknown males got into the back seat. The three people told the victim to drive to an alley behind a laundromat.

There, the woman pulled out a Glock pistol, racked it twice, and pointed it at John Doe 1. All three people made statements that they intended to rob the victim. The victim got out of the car and ran away, and the three people took the victim's car.

An officer found the car with switched plates later the same day, and had it towed. A few days after the vehicle was returned to John Doe 1, it was stolen again. In February 2023, police found Boyiddle in the victim's car, and in possession of a Glock 9mm handgun. Investigators determined through a Facebook photo that "Nicole" was Boyiddle.

The government further alleged that Boyiddle and her associates were able to steal the car a second time by using keys they got during the carjacking.
