BOZEMAN — Homecoming week at Montana State University kicks off Monday, Sept. 25, and culminates with a football game against Portland State University on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The theme for Homecoming 2023 is “Bobcats Through the Decades.” Throughout the week, MSU and the MSU Alumni Foundation will host events for students, alumni and fans that will take place on the MSU campus and at other locales around Bozeman.

The events schedule is:

  • Monday Sept. 25

       Homecoming BBQ — 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the large tent just east of Montana Hall on the MSU campus.

       Foreigner Concert — 7:30 p.m. at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. The rock band will perform as part of their “Historic Farewell Tour” with hits from the 1970s and 80s.

  • Tuesday Sept. 26

       Lighting the M — 7-9 p.m.; Students will place LED lights around the College M on Mount Baldy. There will be a watch party at Story Mill Park, 698 Bridger Drive, from 7 to 9 p.m., and a Watch Party Bike Parade starting at 7 p.m. on the Malone Centennial Mall on the MSU campus.

  • Thursday Sept. 28

       Lewis Hall 100th Anniversary Celebration — 3–4 p.m.

       VIA Bookstore Open House — 6-9 p.m. at the MSU Bookstore. Alumni event featuring trivia, appetizers, beverages and a sale on Bobcat logo gear.

       Go Cats Lighting – 7-9 p.m. at South Hedges Hall. Join University Student Housing and MSU's Office of Student Engagement for a fun tradition at the residence halls.

  • Friday Sept. 29

       Alumni Friday — 4-7 p.m. at the Rocking R Bar, 211 E. Main St.

       Roberts Hall 100th Anniversary Open House — 4:30–5:30 p.m.

       Choral Reunion Rehearsal — 5:30–6:15 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 220 W. Main St.

       Pep Rally — 6-7 p.m. at Main Street and Willson Avenue. Meet Bobcat football coaches and players and Homecoming Ambassador candidates and celebrate MSU spirit.

  • Saturday Sept. 30

       Serenade Before the Parade — 9:30-10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 220 W. Main St. MSU ensembles will perform a recital before the Homecoming parade.

       Homecoming Parade — 10-11:30 a.m.  on Main Street in downtown Bozeman. The parade will feature floats from various student and alumni groups.

       Homecoming  Tailgate — 11:30 a.m. at the Dyche  Practice Fields, also known as Kagy Practice Field, just north of Bobcat Stadium. Celebrate the Blue and Gold at a tailgate hosted by the MSU Alumni Foundation.

       MSU Football — 2 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium. The Bobcats take on the Vikings from Portland State University. The game will be broadcast live on KSEN 1150am.
