Pop Culture Shop with a Charitable Twist Opens Friday in Billings

Update 5/3: We've learned that the lotion people are still at the mall, but have moved to a different location. So... disregard the entire first paragraph of this story. 

Pushy lotion salespeople Out. Fun new store In at Rimrock Mall.

If you've been to the mall anytime in the last few years, you've undoubtedly encountered those extremely pushy salespeople that aggressively encourage you to buy their magic anti-wrinkle lotions and amazing age-defying creams. So annoying, right? Well, good news... their shop is no longer at Rimrock Mall. You'll have to find your overpriced moisturizers elsewhere. In its former location comes a much more enjoyable shopping experience.

BoxLunch does not serve lunch.

BoxLunch is a specialty retailer that offers a wide range of pop culture-inspired merchandise, including apparel, accessories, collectibles, and home goods. The company is known for its commitment to social responsibility, partnering with various non-profit organizations to support causes such as hunger relief, animal welfare, and mental health awareness. Our Contributor Josh Rath tipped us off that BoxLunch is coming to Billings a few weeks ago. The store is now set to open this Friday, May 5th. 

Spend $10 and you'll buy a hungry person lunch.

One really cool thing about the new-to-Billings store is their commitment to help end hunger. The company operates under a buy-one-give-one model, where for every $10 spent in-store or online, the company donates a meal to Feeding America.

BoxLunch is located between Zumiez and The Candy Clubhouse.

BoxLunch is owned by the same company that operates Hot Topic. Their target demo appears to be shoppers that may have aged out of Hot Topic. Much of BoxLunch's merchandise seems to appeal to those around 20 - 40ish, although my 11-year-old would probably find lots of things she just has to have as well.

Collectibles change as fast as people age. BoxLunch carries tons of Funko Pop, Hello Kitty, Dragon Ball Z, Pokeman, Marvel, and much more.

Special things for the Grand Opening weekend.

Per the press release from Rimrock Mall, here's the schedule for their opening weekend.

• Thursday, May 4th: 5PM – 9PM - Preview Night for Loyalty members with a DJ
• Saturday, May 6th: The first 50 guests to visit BoxLunch at the store's open on Saturday will get a mystery gift card worth up to $100! 12PM – 4PM: In store DJ, trivia and prizes!
• Sunday, May 7th: The first 50 guests to visit BoxLunch at the store's open on Sunday will get a mystery gift card worth up to $100! 12PM – 4PM: In store DJ, trivia and prizes!
