We don’t have to wait until Thanksgiving Day to say what we are thankful for.

So, I decided to make a list of all the things I’m very grateful for. It’s the little things we tend to forget about. The attitude of gratitude is the essence of life.

I got laid off from my last radio gig and the jobs just weren’t available in Colorado. I looked for 6 months to no avail. It was time to work up the courage I know lives deep inside my soul, apply to out-of-state jobs, and here I am. Having a morning show as my job was my ultimate dream, and my dream came true! Thank you Billings for the love.

I am grateful for my co-workers in Montana whom have turned into friends.

Like I said above, it takes a lot of courage to leave your hometown, make new friends, and have patience with new people. Not everyone can handle that.

I am grateful for my working, able body so I can explore Montana’s beauty.

My routine got a little wonky after moving, and I noticed my health was taking a back burner. I wasn’t taking my normal walks around the block, drinking enough water, or getting enough sleep.  I will commit to treating my body kindly. This means speaking kindly to myself, eating fruits and veggies, getting some exercise- that's the hard part for me.

I am grateful for my eyes and ears, to be able to see and hear the beauty of Montana.

This means the people and culture, the views and scenery, the things that make this state home to me now. My hearing allows me to do my job, without it I simply couldn’t be in radio.

I am grateful for music; the best therapy. And for my guy, Joe. He gave up his job in Colorado to come support my dreams. He always wanted to move back to Montana.

If I have a rough day, I can lean on them for support. They always have my back. They always listen. And they encourage me to keep going and to tell the haters to kick rocks.

I am grateful for my doggies and how they are loving Montana.

They drive me wild, but at the end of the day when my dogs snuggle me, or beg for head-scratches my heart sings. Truly my best friends.

I am grateful for you.

To whomever is reading this: even if I don’t know you, or maybe I do know you, just know I am grateful to be in this community. I want to thrive here, and it’s been a bumpy road. But, I wouldn’t change it for a thing. I'm constantly growing, and evolving.

What are you grateful for?  Send an email to billingsmixmornings@townsquaremedia.com to tell me what you're grateful for and I'll read it on-air in the coming weeks.

Love,

Nikki V.
