Is Billings a ‘Yellowstone’ Sell-Out? Apparently Literally, Yes
If you happen to be one of the few people that don't know who Luke Grimes is, don't feel bad. I was a Yellowstone holdout for years. I acquired a weird pride of not watching the incredibly popular show. My friends would jabber about it and I'd be like, "yeah, fake rancher shows about Montana are dumb. I don't watch it."
During vacation break over Christmas 2022, my wife and I finally decided to check out the somewhat-filmed-in-Montana drama. We ended up binge-watching the entire series and are anxiously wondering when the rest of Season Five is finally gonna drop. TV Guide reports six more episodes will come this summer. I've yet to see a teaser pop up in my feed, so I'd guess late summer. Perhaps after the 4th of July?
Kayce Dutton is coming to Billings.
Yes, Yellowstone is very much fiction. Long-time locals all chime in on this fact. But it's well-produced, the storyline is captivating, and we enjoy trying to spot various discrepancies in the show that only Montanans would recognize. That said, one of Yellowstone's biggest stars is coming to Billings. Not as an actor, but as a musician.
Luke Grimes at the Pub Station Ballroom.
I spotted a post from the Pub Station late last week about Luke Grimes coming to Billings in April, and I knew it would sell out fairly quickly. It sold out in one day. This led me to an interesting observation...
Are Montanans a bit hypocritical when it comes to Yellowstone?
One of our most divisive Yellowstone posts ever was regarding Luke Grimes's recent announcement that he was buying a place in Montana. Many locals seem to hate the attention the series brings to Montana. At the same time, it seems like just about everyone in the Treasure State is hopelessly addicted to the Dutton drama. It sure looks like lots of fans are looking forward to seeing "Daddy Kayce" in B-Town.
