Did you get your $675 property tax rebate here in Montana? For those who don't recall, Montana's Republican Supermajority in the state legislature delivered over $1 Billion in tax relief to the people of Montana. Democrats largely voted against all of the tax relief measures.

When it comes to the property tax rebate, nearly every Democrat voted against property tax rebates for YOU, but made sure to get the rebate for THEM. Montana Senate Republicans sent out this reminder on Wednesday via X:

Democrats voted against giving property tax rebates to Montanans. That didn't stop 20 of them from claiming tax relief for themselves, though!

Here is the list of Montana's Democrat legislators that voted against property tax rebates for YOU, but made sure they got the rebate for THEM.  attachment-Dem tax rebate info from DOR

By the way, homeowners will be eligible for the property tax rebate next year as well.

Here's how it works:

For example, if a taxpayer owes $425 in property taxes on a principal Montana residence in 2022, he or she would receive a $425 rebate.

If a taxpayer owes $1,200 in property taxes on a principal Montana residence in 2022, the taxpayer would receive a $675 rebate.

How to apply:

Taxpayers must file a claim for the Property Tax Rebate. They can do this by either filing online through TAP or by submitting a paper form. Filing online is fast and easy and allows us to process your rebate claim quickly.

Did any of the Democrats in the Montana Legislature support any of the tax cuts or tax relief that got signed into law by Governor Greg Gianforte (R-MT)?

The answer: Yes. Not many. But some, and only on some bills. Click here for the breakdown we previously reported.
