A young man born and raised in Montana, who for 6 years identified as a transgender woman, spoke out during a hearing on legislation to protect young children from radical transgender surgeries and other treatments.

Senate Bill 99 already passed the Montana State Senate. This is a bill that would basically protect Montana kids from life altering surgeries and/or medications that could cause severe health complications or lifelong harm.

Montana Speaker of the House Matt Regier (R-Kalispell) shared one interesting piece of testimony from the House Judiciary Committee hearing. In the testimony, a young man who used to identify said this:

I was born and raised here in Montana. I- for six years I have lived as a transgender woman. Through that time, after the euphoria of of the newness wore off, I came to realize that no amount of drugs, no amount of pretending and acting like your opposite sex could cure the deep hurt that comes from the pain of dysphoria.

Speaker Regier shared the clip and pointed out that this testimony is "a clear example of why we shouldn't allow our children to make life altering decisions to their body. We must continue to protect Montana’s next generation."

Watch the video for yourself:

Several of the news headlines back here in Montana are running blatantly false headlines regarding this story. NBC Montana, for example, had a headline that read: "House Judiciary hears bill banning gender-affirming care for minors." Montana Public Radio also had this headline: "Senate approves bill criminalizing gender-affirming care for minors."

Both of those headlines are straight up FALSE. The bill does not ban "gender-affirming care", if you want to use that nonsensical term, it simply protects kids from certain procedures before a minor turns 18.  I made that point on Twitter HERE.

Children should never make life altering irreversible decisions and Senate Bill 99 will ensure that kids are protected until they're mature enough to fully understand the consequences

The Montana Family Foundation also sent out an action alert urging Montanans to call these key Republican Representatives and ask them to vote "YES" on Senate Bill 99.
