Last week, we told you about the big news for Glendive, Montana: an ammo manufacturer is setting up shop in Glendive with a $125 million investment.

That wasn't the only big news announced by Montana Governor Greg Gianforte (R-MT). On Thursday, as the governor was joining us on the radio to talk about the Brixtel Defense/ Glendive news, he dropped some big news for Helena.

Gov. Gianforte: We're announcing a new gun manufacturer investing $50 million in Helena, creating up to 60 jobs. This is Olympus Arms. Their gun last year at the SHOT Show was voted "Best in Show" and they're going to be manufactured right here in Montana.

Due to the anti-gun regulatory environment in other states, these companies are looking to move to states like Montana.

Gov. Gianforte: Just a shout-out to the (Montana) Department of Commerce. We stood up a business attraction group, and we've been working with these manufacturers all over the country that want to come to a place where we defend the Second Amendment.

According to a press release from the governor's office, the founder of the company is a Montana native.

U.S. Army veteran, Montana native, and company founder, Michael Merino, is familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the equipment currently used in the U.S. Army. After serving for over 20 years, Merino sought a way to better equip U.S. military servicemembers, and established Olympus Arms.

As for the Glendive News mentioned earlier, that facility should be up and running by mid-February. The governor tells us that Brixtel Defense will receive their first batch of equipment from Alpha Loading Systems in Stevensville in the first week of February.
