The Little Bighorn National Monument is the site of one of the nation’s most iconic battles — the June 1876 clash between Custer’s 7th Cavalry– his last stand– and a coalition of Native-American tribes, led by Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse. The battlefield is located about an hour southeast of Billings, and is visited by hundreds thousand of people, with tours from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
