Road conditions were rough yesterday morning, November 10,  and even resulted in school delays in Stevensville. Despite the icy conditions, Missoula Police Detective Sgt. Travis Welsh said Missoula drivers made it through the morning relatively unscathed.

"We had some warning," said Missoula Police Detective/Sgt. Travis Welsh. "This kind of came on us a little earlier than we're used to I think. Relatively speaking, though, people were driving cautiously and at the appropriate speeds while keeping distances good and safe."

The number of accidents in the city of Missoula were minimal.

"We only had, by about 10:30, only about four reported accidents. Two of those were single vehicle that were probably weather related, the other two did involve injury, but nothing that was life threatening."

Yesterday’s weather was so severe that the system was named Winter Storm "Astro," and is expected to continue until Wednesday. The initial wave of moisture dumped snow from Montana to Michigan.
