MLK Day Events This Weekend

While Monday, January 16th is the national holiday recognizing the life and works ot the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. MLK Day Events This Weekend several observances are planned in and around Billings for the weekend leading up to the official holiday.  Activities scheduled before Monday’s birthday observance include the MLK Jr. Service Day event, scheduled for Saturday January 14 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Friendship House for Christian Service, located at 3123 Eighth Avenue South.
On Saturday evening, dinner will be served and entertainment offered– with a donation of $25– beginning at 6 p.m. in the conference room at the Billings Food Bank, located at 2112 Fourth Ave. North.  At 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, an interfaith service called “Lift Every Voice” will be held at First English Lutheran Church, located at 1243 North 31st St, recognizing the unsung heroes of the civil rights movement.  The event is sponsored by Not In Our Town Billings.
