The Gazette reports the Billings Public Library will host Mardell Plainfeather and Seidel Standing Elk this Friday, November 16th as part of their Native American History Month program. Plainfeather and Standing Elk will give presentations on Native American culture, in the library’s community room at 6 p.m. Plainfeather is a retired National Park Service Ranger who worked at the Fort Smith National Historic Site in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and at the Little Big Horn National Monument in her hometown of Crow Agency, according to a press release from the library. Standing Elk is a member of the Northern Cheyenne Nation and descendant of the So-taaeo-o who currently resides in Billings. The program is free and open to the public.
