The area northwest of Billings is the nesting place for several species of waterfowl, including Canada geese, pelicans and cormorants.

Golf ball-sized hail fell Sunday in downtown Billings, breaking windows and damaging lightbulbs and neon lighting at the Babcock Theater.

One social outlet even had a picture of a tornado north of Logan International airport.

If you're headed to MontanaFair or have other outdoor events planned for Sunday (8/11), keep an eye on the weather. Severe weather is possible for Billings and the surrounding area through tonight.

Storm watchers had a treat on Saturday night into Sunday morning as spectacular thunderstorms moved through western Montana dishing out an amazing amount of lightning and thunder.

Afternoon storms on Thursday (6/27) will have the potential for up to baseball-sized hail and maximum winds of 80mph according to the Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Severe weather is expected to arrive in southeastern Montana tomorrow (6/6) afternoon with the potential for large hail, heavy winds and torrential rain through Friday (6/7).

The National Weather Service has issued a warning for severe thunderstorms in west central Montana and northern Idaho.

The National Weather Service has posted that there is a sever thunderstorm watch in effect for the Billings area for the rest of today and tonight until 9 p.m.
