Israel and Hamas have announced a cease-fire to end a bruising 11-day war that caused widespread destruction in the Gaza Strip and brought life in much of Israel to a standstill.

The conflict between the nation of Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas has escalated into rocket attacks into Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, followed by Israeli air strikes into the West Bank.

In a phone interview with Townsquare Media on Monday, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer, spoke about the murder of three teens in the West Bank and Israel’s response options.
