This morning, around 6:58 AM, Billings Police Department received a call of an assault. The assault occurred around 4:00 AM in the 800 block of 1st Avenue North.

Officers on the scene contacted the adult male victim and learned a cold robbery had occurred.

The victim advised police he was walking in the area when he was hit from behind with a bat-like object.

3 Native American Males hit the victim while he was down, and stole "some cash" before fleeing the scene. (The victim was unable to provide any further descriptions)

No suspects have been identified, and the case is under investigation.
