Montana Senator Describes Border Visits in Israel & US

The horrific terror attacks in Israel- as Hamas terrorists crossed the border and slaughtered innocent women, children, and even infants- is a reminder of the need to secure our own southern border here in America.

Just a few short weeks ago, Montana's US Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) was visiting the northern border in Israel. Last week, he visited our own southern border with Mexico.

Senator Daines: The Border Patrol agent told me that they have apprehended people, since the first of October, and I was there on October 11th and this is just the first 10 days of the new fiscal year the federal government began October 1st. They've apprehended people on the southern border from Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, North Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria, Uzbekistan, Yemen- and that is not an exhaustive list. That's just some of the countries that just stuck out to me. And that was in the first 10 days.

Senator Daines also talked about the 1.5 million "got aways" that didn't get stopped by our border patrol agents- and that's just the ones we know about.

Senator Daines: This is a national security threat. We are very concerned about terror cells at this very moment that are starting to constitute themselves around our country. And to see what's happening right now under the control of the Iranians- when they're dictating what Hamas should do in Gaza, what Hezbollah should do in Lebanon, as well as what could happen in the West Bank. So this is a very concerning moment. But this is not just an issue Israel's confronting right now in its backyard and front yard, it's what the United States has in our territory as well.
