This week's featured adoptable pet from Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter is a real charmer. He's part cow dog; a Collie mix with perhaps a bit of Labrador in there somewhere. He certainly looks the part too, with big black random markings on his white coat. Or is it white markings on a black coat? Hmm. Regardless, Oliver looks suspiciously like a Holstein milk cow.

If you need a "cow" to complete your Halloween costume this year.

We're joking, of course. You should never adopt a pet as a prop for Halloween. However, you should adopt this dog because he's awesome. A little on the thick side (he weighs close to 100 lbs), this dog was so sweet. When he burst through our studio doors this morning, he lit up the room.

Remarkedly calm for a two-year-old Collie mix, Oliver couldn't wait to lean into my leg as I reached down to pet him. He knows how to sit on command and is likely a quick learner.

YVAS is at capacity for adoptable dogs at the moment.

Many of the dogs that end up at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter are picked up as strays. Occasionally, pet owners will relinquish their pets to the shelter for various reasons. Oliver is one of those cases. His previous owners brought him in because he was aggressive with their cat. So... it's probably best that no cats are in the household of whoever adopts this handsome, loving dog. Browse all the dogs currently up for adoption at the shelter HERE. You can view the cats HERE.
